lyrics

once i was a sun god
eons before an ur god
now I'm not even your god anymore

once i had a temple
you used to come and worship
today i'm just a curse upon your lips

all my priests and deacons dead
all the temple dancers fled
all my devotees have strayed
all the oracles dumbstruck

where is all my treasure? spent
all the sacrifices? spared
where are all my zealots? taken
all my shrines have been forsaken
forsaken

once i had an empire
of kings ruled by a war god
now i'm not even your god anymore

once i had a temple
you used to come and worship
today i’m just the curse upon your lips

you were a temple dancer
all slim and supple movement
the loveliest of maidens
you leapt with such devotion

today you are a bitter crone
my name the curse upon yours lips
every time that you blaspheme me
you wake my spirit from the depths
let me rest

please you must forget me
my name must be spoken
give me one last token of respect

now there's only one God
though not a very fun god
but there's no need for a sun god anymore

you don't want me anymore
no one needs a sun god anymore
anymore

about

Crydaddy Seattle, Washington

Crydaddy is singer Stephen Ahlbom and multi-instrumentalist Keith Galpin.

Longtime musical cohorts, their forays trace back to the dawn of the Northwest punk/wave scene, debuting in 1979 in Seattle's seminal art band, the Debbies and later in ConCordia disCors and Unison.

Keith's jagged beat guitar, funky bass grooves and interweaving keyboards create the setting for Stephen's melodic ravings.
